Energy saver of the year

- The winner of the year stands out positive with their inspiring work through several decades.  The company, with director of technical division, Stine Skagestad in front, is also very good sharing aknowledgde and inspire other companies to be a smarter energy user, argues the jury during the awarding at LOS energy day at Strand Hotel Fevik. 

The three nominated companies was Alloc in Lyngdal, Asko Agder and Eramet Kvinesdal. Both Alloc and Eramet are members of Eyde Cluster. 

The steadily work 

- We find this pleasurable. This is the result after the steadily work started in the end of the 70´s. We have the last decades put that to system. And it´s this good energy-culture we have build on and put further more to system the last few years. Still, this is a continuos process, Stine Skagestad point out.

She received the award on the behalf of Eramet Kvinesdal.

She also point out the important co-work going on in Eyde Cluster. 

- We share the best and the worst

- The good sharing culture is very important. We share both the best and the worst. And we also try to learn from mistakes, and we learn smart ways of working. We help each other being better, and we share whatever we can share. You have a professional network, and simultaneous you have an energy-collegue in each company in the southern part of Norway. Do you have questions, it´s easy to make a phone call. We prioritize  each other in the daily life. That we have done for the last decade, and I find it great, says Skagestad, who finds it fun to help each other being better. 

Impressed 

– Eramet has impressed on all our criterions, and is a well deserved winner in the category company, after being nominated two years in a row, says Anders Gaudestad, CEO in LOS AS in a press release.

 The Energy Award wish to inspire more companies to be a smarter energy user. 

–  It´s inspiring if we look to all the experience Eramet has done, and it´s motivating to see how big amounts of money they save because of their good energy leading during this time, says Gaudestad.

Surprised

Despite of Eramet Kvinesdals work with energy saving since the 70´s, and the focus putting this to a system the last decade, Skagestad was surprised getting the award. She wants to emphazise that this award is not only to the big projects, but to the whole company.  

- It´s important to tell that this is a prize for the complete plant. Because all of them are contributing. From closing windows to choose amore energy friendly motor - everything contributes to decrease the energy use, she points out.  

Eramet Kvinesdal is now in a dialogue with a couple of the providing companies to find even more energy efficient solutions. 

Sertificed in energy leading

Eramet Norway Kvinesdal was the third company in Norway being certified in Energy leading December 2010. Through the certification the good energy work was put to a system. And by working with attitude and small improvements as energy-conscious buying and smart solutions only, have given marked energy reductions. 

Eramet takes part in several of the competence groups in Eyde Cluster, and has through several years contributed sharing experience with other companies in the cluster.
