Cogniman Convention: Presented various automated solutions

Over 70 participants from various European countries attended the Cogniman Convention in Kristiansand last week.

-We got a glimpse of what others are working on, says Emil Øydna Andersen from Glencore Nikkelverk, whose team attended the conference on digitalization and robotics in the industry. The EU project Cogniman, focusing on various solutions and opportunities for improvement in the industry, was the main topic.

High Engagement

The Eyde Cluster is part of this EU-supported project, aimed at automating more manual tasks in the process industry. During the conference, several participating companies presented their challenges and solutions. The engagement was high, with topics highly relevant to the attending businesses.

-There were many engaged participants, a good pace throughout the conference, and it was great to see the international attendees. Moving forward, we have a lot to follow up on in the cluster's working groups. This is what we will be focusing on. We aim to robotize, but we must not forget the human aspect, says Nadia Handeland, project manager at the Eyde Cluster and co-organizer of the conference.

-When we adopt technology, the human should always be at the center. Our goal should be to improve people's lives, not to sacrifice this for the sake of robots or AI, says Luong Nguyen from Montimage, who attended the Cogniman Convention.

More Conferences to Come

-Will there be more Cogniman conferences?

-We will continue with more conferences since this is a key topic for both the EU and Norway—how to implement new production methods, following new EU regulations, says Handeland.
