Inspired by Denmark

Inspired by Denmark's eco-industrial park, the Eyde Cluster traveled to Skive in Denmark to learn more about how we can develop eco-industrial parks in Agder.

-The visit to Greenlab Skive has been very inspiring. There is much to learn about how they have approached the development of an eco-industrial park from a 'greenfield approach,' and a lot of knowledge we can utilize here in Agder. The journey from idea to industrial construction has been challenging, and many partners have been important in different phases of development, observed Christophe Pinck, the Eyde cluster's EU advisor.

Together with partners from the Nordics

Eyde also invited strong partners from other Nordic countries.

-This made the professional discussions, the questions asked, and the answers given very relevant, providing us with much knowledge we could take home to Agder, says Pinck.

Patience work that bears fruit

-The learning from Skive is useful for the work we are doing in CIRC, where the goal is to develop industrial symbioses around Eramet in Kvinesdal municipality, in Farsund municipality around Aludyne and Alcoa, at the airport, in Støleheia in Kristiansand and Vennesla municipalities, and around Morrow in Arendal municipality. We gained a lot of knowledge and inspiration. Working with industrial symbioses is a patience-intensive task, so being able to share learnings and frustrations with the best in the Nordics provides inspiration to continue, says Stine Skagestad, head of circular transformation in the Eyde cluster.

-Yes, a practice in patience, but we gained important insight into how to reach the goal and create new future-oriented jobs from the symbiosis process, adds Pinck.

Participating in several collaborative projects

The Eyde Cluster participates in extensive Nordic and European collaborative projects to provide our member companies with access to expertise and resources that contribute to increased speed and effectiveness in our work with the circular economy.
